Un 5ème tome toujours aussi addictif. (lecture VO)

 On avait rencontré Ghost et Xanthe dès le tome 1 puisque le premier est l'homme de main du club,  le sergent d'armes, celui qui est là pour régler les problèmes de manière radicale et son nom de route en fait un adversaire redoutable. Pourtant, celui qui est le moins ouvert de tous, va tomber sous le charme de la jolie libraire, amie de Ora et Lu, les régulières de War et Haz, bref, une jeune femme timide aux antipodes de ce qu'il est et pourtant. 
On revient donc en arrière puisque l'on revient à son enfance et l'on comprend qu'un événement tragique a changé sa vie à jamais et des années après, lorsqu'il rencontre la jeune femme, on comprend que son club est devenu sa famille et qu'il est prêt à tout pour lui, quitte à perdre celle qui l'attire comme jamais (on a vu ce passage dans le tome 2). Lui qui est si différent d'elle pourra-t-il la séduire? la jeune femme qui craque pour cet être sombre pourra-t-elle lui faire confiance et percer le mur qu'il a érigé entre lui et les autres? Alors que les ennemis sont toujours aux aguets, comment ces deux-là que tout oppose pourront-ils trouver leur happy-end? Ghost pourra-t-il laisser voir réellement qui il est à la jeune femme? Mon avis : c'est une romance qui se lit très vite et qui est addictive : bien sûr, on aurait aimé que cela dure plus mais ce tome 5 demeure reste très chouette à lire. Ghost est l'un des plus mystérieux et des plus sombres du MC, j'attendais donc son histoire : je vous laisse découvrir ce qui l'a amené à être ce qu'il est et pourquoi il est devenu ce qu'il est. Il tombe sous le charme de Xanthe dès le départ et pourtant, il essaie de rester loin car elle est tellement différente de lui et il ne veut pas la blesser ou la choquer mais c'est plus fort que lui et comme elle répond à son attirance, il ne peut que craquer. Il a juste peur qu'elle le fuit en découvrant qui il est réellement et les femmes du club n'aident pas à le rassurer. Attention, gare à celui qui ose s'en prendre à ses frères, son club et évidemment la femme qu'il aime.

Xanthe est une jeune femme douce, timide qui se réserve pour l'homme qui sera le bon et elle tome amoureuse du plus sombre des bikers. Pourtant, il ne lui fait pas peur et elle n'hésite pas à l'envoyer balader, voire à le repousser et elle va le surprendre à bien des égards (et nous avec) Elle a un caractère bien affirmé malgré son côté toute gentille. Et il lui en faut pour séduire cet homme blessé et ours : on est bien dans le grumpy/sunshine et c'est pour ça que les autres membres du club l'apprécient aussi. 

On retrouve les couples des tomes passés et on a déjà hâte de lire les histoires des prochains bikers et le 6 sera consacré à Bones : j'espère aussi que le président aura son histoire au milieu :) 

On sait qu'ils ont des ennemis mais ils sont moins présents cette fois et c'est un peu dommage : ce tome est plus centré sur la romance, même si l'ombre du club ennemi est toujours là. 

Bref, une jolie romance, sombre, efficace et qui nous rend addicte aux bikers de Chantal Fernando encore une fois.
